Dr. Victoria Omua Amu, a former governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming 2024 gubernatorial election in Edo State, has resigned her membership from the party. In a letter personally signed and addressed to the chairman APC Ward 4 Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, Dr. Amu revealed that her resignation is based on personal and family reasons.
Dr. Victoria Amu hails from Edo North of the state and was a former SSA on Social Mobilization for 7 years under Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and SSA to Governor Godwin Obaseki for one year. She recently bagged an award of Excellence from the Nigeria Union of Journalists Nuj, Edo State Council.
According to the letter, Dr. Amu ran for the House of Assembly election in 2022 and also in the just concluded governorship race in 2024 under the APC. She requested the indulgence of all her friends, supporters and well-wishers to respect her decisions at this time of auspicious moment to redefine the destiny of her great state. The letter was made available before newsmen in Benin City, the state capital.

I, Victoria Omua AMU, foundation member of the APC, hereby tender the resignation of my membership of the
APC for personal and family reasons.
I thank the party for finding me worthy to have been given the opportunity to serve as SSA on Social
Mobilization for 7 years under Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and SSA to Governor Godwin Obaseki for
one year. It is on record, that i ran for the House of Assembly in 2022 and also in the just concluded
Governorship race in 2024 all under the APC.
