Fans of former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) star Kiddwaya have initiated a cash donation campaign to help the billionaire’s son purchase the newly released iPhone 16.
The movement began after Kiddwaya, known for his extravagant lifestyle, jokingly posted on Snapchat that he needed the latest iPhone.
His post quickly gained traction among his fanbase, who, despite his wealthy background, started contributing money towards their favourite celebrity’s next luxury gadget.
Kiddwaya humorously acknowledged the donations in another Snapchat post: “I’m 1/5th on the way to my new iPhone. Where are my big fishes at?? I see ya’ll.”
While the campaign has garnered support, it has also sparked a range of reactions on social media. Many found the gesture amusing, while others expressed disbelief at the idea of raising money for someone already wealthy.
One social media user, @oluwa_fola1, remarked, “Donating money for a billionaire’s child is crazyyyyy.” Another user, @royaldivalee, added, “Lol. Are we normal as a people?”
However, some supporters saw the humor and kindness in the gesture. @goldy_jane5 commented, “They know what they are doing 🤣 they think say he go return the money back with extra on top.” Another fan, @chefnshopper, offered a more positive perspective:
“Even the rich deserve a little bit of kindness. Sometimes they just want to know what it feels like to be on the receiving end. Possible he will return the money double 😊.”
