Benin City, Nigeria – The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has officially released the results of the 2024 in-school National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations.
This announcement was made by NABTEB’s Acting Registrar/CEO, Dr. Nnasia Asanga, during a press briefing at the board’s headquarters in Benin.
Dr. Asanga expressed pride in the timely release of the results, emphasizing it as a reflection of the board’s dedication to improving education, especially in the area of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
“This achievement is a testament to the management’s unwavering commitment and resilience to the advancement of education, including TVET,” he stated.
He also highlighted the importance of the timely release of results, noting that it would benefit candidates seeking admission to tertiary institutions.
According to the results, 44,000 candidates, representing 65.34 percent of those who took the NBC/NTC examinations, scored five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.
In total, 62,235 candidates, representing 92.42 percent, achieved five credits and above, with or without English Language and Mathematics. However, the 2024 results showed a slight decline compared to the 2023 performance.
In 2023, 39,220 candidates, or 73.19 percent, achieved five credits and above, including English and Mathematics, while 49,529 candidates, or 92.43 percent, scored five credits and above with or without English and Mathematics.
Dr. Asanga assured the public that NABTEB would continue to focus on raising the standards of technical and vocational education in Nigeria to ensure that students are equipped with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
