A viral video has sparked widespread controversy after Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, was reportedly heard lamenting about her troubled marriage with billionaire politician and Delta North Senator, Ned Nwoko.
In the trending clip, Regina could be heard saying, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my house, I am Queen.” The video, shared online by film producer Stanley On-Top, has triggered a social media frenzy, with many suggesting that the couple’s once-glamorous union may be facing deep cracks.
According to Stanley, the actress cried out on Thursday night, alleging that she could no longer endure what she described as domestic violence in her home. He further claimed that suspected thugs, allegedly sent by Senator Nwoko, attacked Regina at their residence, but were repelled by her brothers.
Observers say Regina, who married the businessman in 2019 amid public debate over their age difference, has evolved into an independent woman earning substantial income through content creation and brand influence. “She now sees life differently and can afford what once attracted her to the senator,” a close associate told Uptown Press via WhatsApp chats.
Social commentators have since used the viral incident to caution young women about prioritising material wealth over mental well-being when choosing life partners. They also urged religious leaders to reinforce moral guidance in their teachings to curb the rising obsession with affluence.
As of press time, Senator Nwoko and Regina Daniels have yet to issue official statements addressing the viral allegations. Many Nigerians, however, hope the reports are not part of a calculated attempt to blackmail the senator or inflame public sentiment against him.
