Mr Ernest Aitalegbe, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Owan East Local Government has commended the peaceful conduct of the local government election in the State.
Aitalegbe gave the commendation on Saturday after he casted his vote at his Ward 4 polling unit 8 in Owan East Local Government Area of the Edo.
Aitalegbe expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the election, and commended voters for coming out en masse to exercise their civic responsibility.
“I most commend voters for the large turnout across the local government. This shows they love me and align with the ruling party APC. With what you are seeing today, by 2027 election you will still witness high turnout of voters and by the grace of God the N2.5million vote we promised President Bola Tinubu is a done deal,” he said.
The APC candidate expressed optimism of victory at the election. He, however, thanked the Gov.Monday Okpebholo for youths the platform to showcase their talent.
“I want to thank the governor for giving us responsibility as youth to serve our people.
“My people of Owan today I have casted my vote and I believe few hours from now by the grace of God I will be declared chairmanship elect.
“I have put my plans in place and the moment I am sworn in I will hit the ground running,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission cleared 12 political parties to participate in the election across the State’s 18 local government areas.
