Political commentator and social media personality, Ibrahim Khalil, popularly known as Dan Shagamu, has been found dead at his residence in Gaida, Kano metropolis.
Khalil was reportedly discovered in a pool of blood at his home on Wednesday, sparking concerns over the circumstances surrounding his death.
Amnesty International, in a statement reacting to the incident, said the political commentator was “brutally slaughtered after being overpowered by his killers”.
The rights organisation condemned the killing and called for a thorough investigation to establish what led to the gruesome death.
Dan Shagamu was known for his political commentary and active presence on social media, where he regularly shared views on political developments and public affairs.
