Super Eagles and Coventry City striker Taiwo Awoniyi has added another major achievement to his growing profile after graduating from the PFA Business School with a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship.
The Nigerian international completed the programme with Merit, marking a significant academic milestone as he continues his professional football career.
Awoniyi’s latest achievement highlights his deliberate preparation for life beyond the pitch, with the striker combining his active playing career with advanced studies in football management and administration.
Speaking after his graduation, Awoniyi described the achievement as another proud moment away from football.
“Another proud moment for me off the pitch,” he said.
The striker stressed the importance of continuous learning, noting that being a professional footballer should not prevent players from developing themselves academically and preparing for the future.
“I have always believed that being a footballer shouldn’t stop you from being a student of the game and education has become an important part of that journey for me,” Awoniyi said.
He expressed appreciation to the PFA Business School, his lecturers and colleagues for their contributions throughout the programme.
Awoniyi also reserved special appreciation for his family and friends, whom he credited for their encouragement and support during his studies.
The former Liverpool forward concluded his message with a declaration that captured his commitment to both football and personal development: “Still playing. Still learning. The journey continues.”
The qualification in Global Football Sport Directorship could provide Awoniyi with valuable knowledge in football leadership, administration and strategic management as he continues his career on the field.
For the Super Eagles striker, the achievement represents a clear investment in the future while he remains focused on his playing career.
