Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is targeting a return to action in a few weeks after suffering a jaw fracture during his side’s 2-0 Premier League victory over Everton on Saturday.
Martinez sustained the injury in the 66th minute after colliding with Everton defender Jarred Branthwaite during the encounter.
The goalkeeper received lengthy treatment on the pitch before being stretchered off and taken directly to hospital for further medical attention.
Despite the severity of the collision, Martinez has offered hope of a swift recovery, saying he expects to be “back in a few weeks.”
