An 11-member campaign team, known as the Festus Alenkhe Re-Election Campaign Committee, has been inaugurated to spearhead the efforts of Dr. Festus Alenkhe in his re-election bid for Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council.
The inauguration, held at the NUJ Conference Room in Benin City, saw the assembly of seasoned professionals tasked with driving the campaign. The team includes prominent members of the union, each bringing years of expertise and leadership experience to the table.
At the helm of the team is Efosa Uwangue, serving as the Coordinator, while Eben Enasco takes on the critical role of Director General.
Other key members of the team include campaign advisers Joy Olabisi and Edosa Okunbo, with Mercy Onyenweli serving as Secretary. Additional team members are Akhigbe Francis, Israel Adebiyi, Joy Musa-Aghedo, Habiba Ibrahim, Kehinde Osagiede, and Queeneth Airueghiomo.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Alenkhe expressed his faith in the newly inaugurated team, stressing their dedication and the wealth of experience they bring to the campaign.
He also charged the committee to reach out to journalists across all chapels within the Edo NUJ Council, highlighting the importance of collaboration and building widespread support for his vision.
The event drew a broad representation of journalists and chapel leaders, signalling strong backing from within the union.
Dr. Alenkhe’s campaign focuses on advancing the welfare and professional interests of journalists in Edo State, a mission he aims to continue if re-elected.
The campaign team is set to galvanise support from all corners of the journalism community, strengthening Dr. Alenkhe’s position as a leading voice for progress and development within the NUJ.
