The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma (AAU), Edo State, Prof. Asomwan Sonnie Adagbonyin, has expressed serious concern about the prevalence of secret cultism in the nation’s tertiary institutions.
He emphasized the university’s strong stance against cultism and other negative behaviours during the matriculation and oath-taking ceremony for 4,051 newly admitted students.
Prof. Adagbonyin advised the new students to stay focused on their academic goals and reminded them of the importance of upholding the university’s rules and regulations, emphasizing that any violation of their oath would have consequences.
He said: “Do not be led astray by bad friends; use social media with wisdom and shun all evil associations including cultism. Do not de-market yourself or your university.
