Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has issued a stern warning to infrastructure saboteurs after vandals attempted to damage the Alakija Bridge earlier today—an attack he insists has failed completely.
The governor personally inspected the structure and delivered an unequivocal verdict: the bridge is safe, structurally sound, and 100% ready for use.
“There is no cause for alarm,” Sanwo-Olu declared in a blistering social media post. “Let me be clear—anyone who attempts to destroy public infrastructure in Lagos will face the full force of the law.”
Security forces moved with lightning speed. The Police, RRS, Task Force, KAI, and Neighbourhood Safety Corps swarmed the scene, securing the area and arresting multiple suspects on the spot. The governor confirmed that operatives are now hunting down the remaining fugitives.
In a double-barreled offensive, Sanwo-Olu also reaffirmed his administration’s ironclad commitment to the Lagos-Badagry Expressway corridor, insisting the ongoing clean-up is already delivering “visible difference.”
His message to Lagosians was unflinching: “We all have a role to play in keeping Lagos safe and protecting what belongs to all of us.”
