The Registrar General/CEO of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Alhaji Garba Abubakar has declared open the Management Retreat on the “Review of CAC Annual Performance Evaluation Form” with a charge on participants to freely and constructively criticize presentations as well as proffer solutions.
Alhaji Garba Abubakar stated that the retreat was part of the efforts being made to improve staff welfare and to reposition the commission for optimal performance.
He prayed that the engagement will churn out a document worthy of implementation by the Commission.
In a welcome address at the event, the Director, Human Resources Mrs. Olayemi Oyeniyi said the new appraisal form was in tune with best and adoptable global practices in performance management.
She added that it was designed to assess staff performance on three basic and generally accepted performance determinants : Knowledge, Behavior and Task accomplished.
She further revealed that the new form was structured in to parts A, B & C which includes a KPI for the year under review and a KPI for the forth coming year amongst others.
In his presentation titled “ Behavioral/ Knowledge Performance Assessment” Haruna Salihu Assistant Director, Records and Promotion described the old method of appraisal as subjective and therefore inimical to growth and development in the system.
A communique is expected at the end of the retreat.
