Ivy Ifeoma, wife of Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, has urged people to be mindful of the kind of entertainment they consume, warning that certain songs and movies can negatively influence their thoughts and actions.

The fashion entrepreneur gave the advice in a post shared on Instagram on Sunday, June 21, 2026, where she encouraged followers to distance themselves from content that promotes lust, dishonesty, lies and other forms of negativity.

According to her, admiration for an artist, actor or public figure should not outweigh the need to protect one’s mind and spirit.

“Pay attention to songs and movies that sow evil seeds in your spirit. It doesn’t matter how much you like the artist/actor/person, if you can feel it birthing evil in your mind-lust, dishonesty, lies, any evil whatsoever, just cut it off,” she wrote.

Ivy further cautioned against the belief that individuals are immune to the influence of what they consume.

“Don’t worry, I know you feel like your spirit is strong and it can’t affect you, but believe me, just cut it off. It’s not really worth it! It will affect you,” she added.

Her comments have since sparked reactions on social media, with many users sharing differing opinions on the impact of music and movies on human behaviour and personal values.
