The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, the suspended South-West Zonal Coordinator of the women’s wing of the City Boy Movement, over an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence.

Tejuosho was arrested on September 8 and remains in EFCC custody, according to the anti-graft agency.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed the arrest to TheCable on Saturday, saying the suspect was still being held by the commission.

“She is in our custody,” Oyewale said.

The arrest comes amid the EFCC’s ongoing investigations into alleged financial crimes involving individuals and organisations.

Tejuosho, who previously served as the South-West coordinator of the women’s wing of the City Boy Movement, had reportedly been suspended from the position.

The EFCC has not disclosed further details of the allegation against her or the specific circumstances surrounding the alleged transaction.

Her arrest does not amount to a conviction, and she remains entitled to due process as investigations continue.
