The All Progressives Congress in Edo State has successfully concluded its ward congresses across all 192 wards, electing new leaders in a largely peaceful exercise designed to reinforce the party’s grassroots structure.

The congresses, which took place statewide, reportedly witnessed consensus-driven selections in most wards, a strategy party stakeholders say was adopted to promote unity and minimise internal disputes.

Party officials described the exercise as a critical step in consolidating the APC’s organisational strength ahead of future political contests, noting that effective grassroots leadership remains central to building a resilient political movement.

Observers say the peaceful conduct of the congresses marks a notable outcome, particularly in a political environment where internal contests at the ward level often generate tension and factional disagreements.

Further details obtained by this online newspaper indicate that the emergence of new ward executives is expected to energise the party’s base, improve mobilisation, and enhance coordination across local structures.

With the exercise now concluded, attention is expected to shift to subsequent stages of the party’s internal processes, as the APC positions itself to strengthen its influence across Edo State’s political landscape.
