Edo APC Congresses: Obey Party Directive On Congresses, Etsako Central leader Tells Stakeholders

In Compliance with the directive given by a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress and immediate past governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to leaders of the party to go to their respective Wards and present a Consensus list, the APC leader in Etsako Central local government, Chief J.B Aloye, has held a Stakeholders meeting..

The high powered meeting which took place yesterday 18th July, 2021 at the instance of the party leader was attended by heavyweight Politicians across the local government.

According to the Central leader, the Ward Congress is the foundation upon which other Congresses would Stand and that no one has the right no matter how highly placed to write to a list in another Man’s Ward.

He noted that APC Constitution recognizes election and consensus and that where the latter does not work, the people should go to the field.
He reiterated that involving people gives them a sense of ownership and belonging.

On the Zoning of the Party’s Chairmanship position to Ward five by the leaders of the Party, Chief Aloye, said, the decision is in the best interest of the party and to promote fairness and justice.

In his remark, the Zone two leader of the party, Chief Alhaji Waziri Oshomah expressed confidence in the leadership of the Central leader to pilot the affairs of the party.

In his speech, the Zone four leader and retired Commissioner Of Police, Chief JET Oshiomhogho, urged the members to close ranks ahead the congresses and pledged his total support to the leadership of Chief Aloye.

Also speaking, a Chieftain of the Party, Engr Eddy Akhigbe, FNSE, urged the Contestants to redouble their efforts in winning more members to the party ahead the congresses and thanked the Central leader for receiving him into the party.

In his submission, a former Governorship Aspirant under the APC, Chief Blessing Agbomhere, said, there is no problem in Etsako Central APC.

Agbomhere, asserted that, the former National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has given power to the leaders in the local government to run the party on his behalf. He expressed confidence in the capacity of the Central leader and the Zonal leaders in piloting the affairs of the party.

The former governorship Aspirant, said, you don’t overthrow a leader to become a leader, adding that you serve a leader to attain leadership.

Lending his voice, Chief Richard Lamai the Gbukpegbu said those in positions of authority should be concerned about the issues affecting the Party especially the House of Assembly members that are yet to be Sworn in instead of quarrelling over petty party positions.

Chief Lamai thanked the Central leader and members for their steadfastness to the growth of the party and reassured them of his support to build the party.

In his contribution, a Chieftain of the party, High Chief Julius Abuda, said, the importance of Ward Congress cannot be overemphasized and that leadership requires responsibilities. . He commended the leaders for organizing the Stakeholders meeting and expressed the hope that APC would get it right at the Congresses.

In his goodwill message, the member representing Etsako Central Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr Ahmed Waziri thanked the Central leader for convening the meeting and assured them of his total support in any decision they take in the interest of the party.

While calling on the members to keep the interest of the party at heart by contributing to the APC, High Chief Richard Okozi, reiterated his commitment to the advancement of the party.

It would be recalled that the Stakeholders meeting was the second meeting to be held since after the directive by the former APC National Chairman on the Congresses.
