Edo APC Congresses: Go to Your Respective Wards And Present a Consensus list, Oshiomhole tells Etsako Central leaders

A former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and immediate past Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has urged leaders in the party in Etsako Central local government to go to their respective Wards and present a list for the Ward Congresses slated for July 31st, 2021.

Addressing leaders and Stakeholders of the party at his Palatial hall at Iyamho, a Community near Auchi in Etsako West local government area, Comrade Oshiomhole, said, the Ward Congress is the foundation upon which others Congresses would Stand.

The former APC National Chairman, said no One has the right to write names in another Man’s Ward, adding that history cannot be rewritten. He urged the leaders in each Ward to sit down together and agree on the list to be presented.

His words: ” We are not going to change the past, what we want is moving forward and in moving forward, we learn from the past that no one has the right to write a list in another man’s Ward” Oshiomhole added.

According to him, the Constitution of APC says there should be election and also recognizes consensus which is the ability to consult, harmonize and dialogue to get an acceptable list.

The former Edo Chief Executive, said, where consensus does not work, the Contestants should go to the field to test their popularity.

Comrade Oshiomhole, called on the Caretaker Committee Chairman in the local government, Comrade Bagudu Suleiman to Know that holding an office is one thing and commanding the trust of those he is superintending is another.

He added that holding an office is about values and morality for a leader to command the respect of his followers, stressing that an Office holder is duty bound to invite anyone to attend a meeting as part of the obligations the Office imposes on the holder.

The APC National leader, reiterated, that involving people gives them a sense of ownership and belonging and makes the work easier.

In his remark, the Edo State Caretaker Committee deputy Chairman, Great Jarrett Tenebe, urged the party leader to close ranks ahead the congresses.

Tenebe, added that, there was need for the leaders to work as a team to achieve the desired goal of having successful Congresses.

The meeting which took place on Sunday July 4th, 2021 had in attendance the leader of APC in the local government, Chief Julius Aloye, Chief Alhaji Waziri Oshiomah, Alhaji Naboya, Chief JET Oshiomhogho, Comrade Bagudu Suleiman, Gen Alfred Ilogho (rtd), Hon. Emmanuel Momoh, Hon Joseph Ugheoke, High Chief Julius Abuda, Chief Blessing Agbomhere, King Benji Igbadumhe and Ward leaders amongst others.
