Edo Govt Reshuffles Cabinet, Redeploys 4 Commissioners

The Edo State Government has announced a minor cabinet reshuffle involving the redeployment of four Commissioners across key ministries, Chris Osa Media reports.

The development was contained in a Government Special Announcement signed by the Secretary to the Edo State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, on September 11, 2026.

According to the statement, the reshuffle was approved by Governor Monday Okpebholo to strengthen governance, improve service delivery and enhance efficiency across the state administration.

Under the new arrangement, Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue moves from the Ministry of Water Resources to the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, while Hon. (Barr.) Vincent Osas Uwadiae moves in the opposite direction, from Physical Planning and Urban Development to Water Resources.

Hon. Andrew Momodu has also been redeployed from the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy to the Ministry of Oil and Gas Resources.

In a corresponding move, Prof. Omorodion I. Ikponmwosa moves from the Ministry of Oil and Gas Resources to the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

The redeployments take immediate effect.
Governor Okpebholo urged the affected Commissioners to bring their experience and expertise to bear in their new portfolios and remain committed to the administrationโ€™s SHINE Agenda for the sustainable development of Edo State.
