Former Edo State governor and Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole, has commended leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress in Edo North for conducting a peaceful and rancour-free House of Representatives primary election.
Oshiomhole gave the commendation during an enlarged Edo North leadership meeting held at his country home, where he appreciated party faithful for their continued loyalty and support towards his political aspirations over the years.
The senator noted that the orderly conduct of the House of Representatives primary in Edo North stood out from reports of disputes and tension witnessed in some parts of the country, describing it as a demonstration of political maturity and unity among APC leaders in the district.
He further disclosed that he had facilitated numerous development projects into the national budget for Edo North, but explained that implementation had been slowed down by challenges affecting the execution of the 2025 Appropriation Act.
Oshiomhole, however, appealed to the people to remain patient with the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assuring them that the federal government remained committed to delivering democratic dividends across the country.
The lawmaker urged APC leaders and members across Edo North to come out en masse for the party’s senatorial primary scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026, and nominate him for a second term in the Red Chamber.
According to him, returning him to the Senate would enable him to consolidate on ongoing developmental efforts and attract more projects to Edo North.
Several APC leaders who spoke at the meeting, including the Minister for Regional Development, praised Oshiomhole’s representation at the National Assembly and expressed confidence in his leadership capacity.
The party leaders equally vowed to mobilise support and ensure his victory at the APC senatorial primary election.
