The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, Dr Festus Alenkhe, has sent heartfelt greetings to Muslim faithful across Edo State as they celebrate Eid al-Fitr, marking the successful conclusion of the month-long Ramadan fast.
In a message released to Uptown Press on Sunday, Dr Alenkhe expressed his prayers for the reward of the sacrifices made during the fasting period, hoping that Allah grants answers to all prayers offered. He extended wishes for the occasion to bring peace, joy, and abundant blessings to the people of Edo State.
The NUJ Chairman specifically prayed for Muslim journalists in the State, urging that they continue their work with dedication, free from any form of intimidation or harassment, while adhering strictly to the core values and ethics of the journalism profession.
“May this period of Eid bring unity, gratitude, and barakah (blessings) to all, and may the celebrations be filled with joy for you and your loved ones,” Dr Alenkhe added.
Further, he called on the citizens of Edo State to continue supporting the efforts of security agencies in their mission to rid the state of criminal elements. Dr Alenkhe emphasised that criminals must not be allowed to thrive within the state, urging the public to offer useful information to law enforcement agencies to help combat criminal activities.
As the State comes together to celebrate, Dr Alenkhe’s message serves as a reminder of the importance of peace, unity, and vigilance in ensuring the well-being of all residents.
