The Edo state Council of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists (NUJ) is gearing up for its Press Week starting on December 7, 2023. The Union will be honouring some of the prominent members in the state with the prestigious award for their remarkable contributions to human development and society in various capacities.
In a statement released by Mr Efosa Uwangue of ITV/Radio and Oliver Ijiogbe of the EBS, the Chairman and Secretary respectively of the NUJ 2023 Press Week Committee, it was announced that Chief of Staff Osaigbovo Iyoha and some other selected Nigerians will be receiving the award.
The statement further mentioned that the award is a recognition of their exceptional contributions to societal development and their ability to bring happiness to the lives of the less-privileged in the society.
Apart from Chief Osaigbovo Iyoha, other notable personalities who will be awarded this prestigious honour on December 9, 2023, include a respected Benin Chief, Chief Osarumwense Agbonavbare Toghobaghase of Benin, Labour governorship Aspirant and philanthropist, Ambassador Princess Emily Asha Okojie, Mr Osazee Oyegue, Chief Executive Officer Standard Life, and a renowned Estate developer, Cyril Omoregie, Chief Executive Officer D PRINCE BUILDERS.
The special award ceremony is a way to show our appreciation for their positive contributions towards uplifting mankind. It is an excellent initiative by the NUJ to recognize and honor those who are making a difference in society, and we look forward to more such initiatives in the future.
