The Edo South Senatorial candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Sunny Aguebor, popularly known as Bibi, has pledged to deliver people-centred representation anchored on empowerment, inclusive development, and responsive governance if elected into the National Assembly in 2027.
Aguebor made the pledge while receiving NDC chairmen from the seven local government areas and wards that make up Edo South Senatorial District, expressing gratitude to party leaders and members for their support during the party’s primary election.
The businessman and founder of the Bibi brand said his ambition was driven by a desire to improve the lives of the people and create opportunities across the district.
“This is not just about me; it is about the hopes and aspirations of our people. You are sending me on a journey that will be defined by commitment, courage, and results. I am inspired by this mission,” he said.
Aguebor assured party faithful that a brighter future lies ahead for Edo South, promising to be an active and effective voice for the district on the floor of the Senate.
He outlined plans to attract and execute constituency projects in critical sectors, including healthcare, road rehabilitation, educational support, scholarships, and vocational training programmes aimed at tackling youth unemployment.
According to him, healthcare would remain a top priority through legislative interventions and strategic partnerships designed to expand access to quality medical services, especially for underserved communities.
“My journey to the National Assembly will be about delivering honest representation focused on expanding economic opportunities, strengthening education, improving healthcare access, and ensuring that every community in Edo South feels the impact of responsive governance,” Aguebor stated.
The NDC candidate also pledged to uphold transparency, accountability, and accessibility in public service, assuring constituents that their interests would remain paramount.
“I will continue to be your voice—strong, fearless, and committed to justice and fairness. Together, we will build an Edo South that works for all,” he added.
Aguebor further thanked party members and supporters for their confidence in his leadership capacity, describing their backing as a reflection of a shared vision for the future of Edo South.
“But for you all who said yes, I would not have taken this step towards the 2027 Edo South Senatorial election. You believe in my capacity. You know that I am not seeking your mandate to own a house, marry a wife, or buy a car. I am already comfortable. I thank you for understanding the depth of my purpose,” he said.
He noted that the support he enjoys goes beyond politics, describing it as a collective commitment to building a better future and securing victory for the people of Edo South in the 2027 election.
