Fake Civil Defence officer nabbed for stealing handset

A 31-year-old suspect, Oduola Abiola who has been impersonating Civil Defence Corps and in the process stole handset has been arrested by the operatives of the Ogun State Police command.

In a press release issued by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, he said “Operatives of SWAT in Ogun State have apprehended one Oduola Abiola for impersonating to be a Civil Defence officer.

“The 31-year-old suspect, Oduola Abiola, was arrested when a stolen phone was traced to him at Ibara area of Abeokuta”.

“He was arrested with a complete NSCDC uniform, which he claimed to have stolen from a Civil Defence officer” the PPRO stated.

The State Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun, has ordered the transfer of the suspect to the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation.
