Fubara Swears In Newly Elected Local Government Chairmen in Rivers State

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, officially inaugurated the newly elected Chairmen of the state’s 23 local government councils.

The swearing-in ceremony, which commenced at 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, was held at the Government House in Port Harcourt, marking the beginning of a new administrative era for the councils.

The event followed the successful conclusion of the local government elections held across the State on Saturday, October 5, 2024, during which the newly elected chairmen received their certificates of return.

In attendance was the Governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, Senator Bala Mohammed, alongside other distinguished political leaders and stakeholders from Rivers State.

Governor Fubara congratulated the new chairmen, stressing the importance of effective grassroots governance for the overall development of the State.
He urged the leaders to prioritise service delivery and uphold the trust of their communities.
