Gov Okpebholo Appoints Iyamu Osaro Destiny as Edo Consumer Protection Committee Chair

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Iyamu Osaro Destiny as the Chairman of the Edo State Consumer Protection Committee.

The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, who said the decision underscores the governor’s commitment to strengthening public institutions, safeguarding consumer rights and improving service delivery across the state.

Iyamu, an entrepreneur, empowerment advocate and community leader, is widely known for his commitment to justice, accountability and the promotion of equal rights.

He is also a prolific author with several published works on good governance, reflecting his passion for ethical leadership and responsible public service.

Beyond his literary contributions, the new chairman has built a reputation as an outstanding mobiliser of human and material resources, with a track record of rallying individuals and communities towards achieving common goals.

Iyamu is the Founder and President of the Aiguobasinmwin Movement World-Wide and has served in several leadership capacities over the years.

The Edo State Government said the appointment is part of Governor Okpebholo’s ongoing efforts to reposition key institutions to ensure effective consumer protection, institutional efficiency and improved public confidence in governance across the State.
