The Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, will officially bid farewell to intending pilgrims from the state ahead of their departure to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
This was contained in a formal invitation issued by the Executive Secretary of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (EMPWB), Alhaji Eranga Muhammadkabir Abdulkabir, inviting members of the Muslim community to attend the farewell ceremony.
According to the statement, the ceremony is scheduled to hold, In shaa Allah, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, by 10:00 a.m. at the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, located at 2/3 Ugomosun Street, Off Dumez Road, Sapele Road, Benin City.
The statement noted that all intending pilgrims are expected to be seated by 9:a.m in preparation for the ceremony.
Pilgrims were also directed to appear in their official Hajj uniforms for the occasion.
The event is expected to bring together government officials, Islamic clerics, family members, and well-wishers to offer prayers, guidance, and goodwill messages to the intending pilgrims before their journey to the holy land.
The statement appreciated members of the Muslim community for their support and urged all invited guests to attend the ceremony promptly.
