Gov Okpebholo suspends Edo Livestock Commissioner

Governor Monday Okpebholo has suspended the Edo State Commissioner for Livestock Development, Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa, and the State Project Coordinator of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (LPRES) Project, Mrs. Ikpikhumi Betsy Aghaku, over an official infraction.

The suspension was announced by the Edo State Government in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor.

According to the statement, the affected officials have been directed to immediately hand over all official documents, records, and other government property relating to the LPRES Project to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Livestock Development.

They have also been ordered to report to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government for a comprehensive debriefing on the LPRES Project.

While the government did not disclose the nature of the official infraction that led to the suspension, the directive takes immediate effect as the administration moves to ensure accountability in the management of the livestock development programme.
