Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has approved the release of two point four billion naira for constituency projects in the state. A statement from the Chief Press Secretary, Abubakar Dakingari stated.
The projects are to be executed under various ministries, departments and agencies in fulfillment of the policy thrust of the incumbent administration of provision of dividends of democracy to the people.
The state Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Alhaji Nura Usman Kangiwa announced this at news briefing at General Abdussalami Press Centre Government House Birnin Kebbi this Thursday.
He explained that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has mandated members of the State House of Assembly to identify important projects in their constituency for submission to appropriate ministries for his approval.
The ministry of Water Resources and Rural Development would execute projects of seven hundred and thirty two point six million naira in the provision of water and electricity.
Alhaji Nura Usman Kangiwa said new water projects and renovation of existing water facilities would consume four hundred and ninety nine point four million naira including procurement of new transformers, while rehabilitation of existing ones will attract two hundred and thirty four million naira.
The Commissioner added that Four Million Naira has been earmarked for the renovation of earth dams.
The projects would be executed in all the twenty one local government areas.
