Insecurity: 2 Businessmen Kidnapped in Edo

Two Edo Businessmen have been kidnapped at Iyekogba area of Benin City, Oredo Local Government of Edo State.

The gunmen were said to have stormed the construction site in a commando-like manner were the victims, Moses Osagie and Omosa Osazuwa were working and whisked them away.

They were later taken through the Ogba river to an unknown destination.

The kidnappers who thereafter communicated with the family members of the victims, demanded N30M – N15m each.

A member of one of the families who spoke with journalists was quoted as saying;

“We were shocked to receive a call from someone who said he is a kidnapper saying we must pay N30m to release our sons.

“We have no such money, and we are hereby appealing to the kidnappers to temper justice with mercy”. He said.

As at the time of filing this report, the police in Edo state is yet to react to the incident.
