Over 115,000 Results Available as Board Trials Innovations for Main Examination
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2025 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which was conducted nationwide on Wednesday, 10 April 2025.
In a statement, JAMB confirmed that candidates who participated in the exercise can now access their results by sending “MOCKRESULT” via SMS to either 55019 or 66019, using the phone number they registered with for the examination.
The mock UTME, designed as a preparatory exercise for the main Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, attracted wide interest from prospective candidates. According to JAMB, a total of 200,115 candidates initially indicated their interest in taking part. However, two candidates later withdrew, resulting in 200,113 officially registered participants.
On the examination day, a significant number of candidates—73,844—were absent. In addition, 88 candidates were unable to sit for the mock UTME due to failure in biometric verification, a mandatory security protocol.
Of the 126,181 candidates who successfully sat for the test, results for 115,735 have already been released and are available for checking. The Board disclosed that results for the remaining 10,446 candidates are still undergoing processing and will be made available in due course.
JAMB acknowledged that some candidates experienced delays during the examination, attributing the issues to newly introduced features aimed at enhancing the integrity and effectiveness of the main UTME. The Board expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and reassured candidates that the innovations were necessary steps towards improving the overall examination experience.
“The mock examination serves as both a trial for our systems and a familiarisation process for candidates who may be new to the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format,” the Board stated. “We appreciate the support of candidates and parents alike in helping to ensure a smoother process.”
JAMB urged all candidates to remain patient and to continue making necessary preparations for the main examination, encouraging them to view the mock UTME as an opportunity to identify areas for improvement.
The 2025 main UTME is expected to commence later this month, and candidates are advised to stay updated through official channels for further announcements and guidelines.
