Jesus isn’t God, there is no Trinity- Reno Omokri

Many Christians try to use John 1:1 to justify the Trinity and their belief that Christ is the same as God who sits on the Throne, and to Whom we pray. They quote John 1:1 as “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

But that is not what John 1:1 says in the original Greek Scriptures. I have this verse in manuscript form in the original Koine Greek. I have tweeted and facebooked a picture of it in the past.

The entire New Testament is written in Koine Green. The first mention of God in the original Koine Greek of John 1:1 is Theon, while the second mention of the word translated God is Theos. These are Koine Greek words that have significance. For instance, Greeks called Zeus, who is the head of their pantheon of gods, Theon. They call Zeus’ children Theos. For instance, Dionysius, the son of Zeus is referred to as Theos. When you translate John 1:1 to Latin, the first use of the word God is translated Deum. The second use is translated Deus. They are not the same words.

Here is John 1:1 in the original Koine Greek:

Ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν ὁ λόγος, καὶ ὁ λόγος ἦν πρὸς τὸν θεόν, καὶ θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος

Here is John 1:1 in the Latin Vulgate:

In principio erat Verbum, et Verbum erat apud Deum, et Deus erat Verbum.

Here is John 1:1 in modern Greek:

En arkhêi ên ho lógos, kaì ho lógos ên pròs tòn theón, kaì theòs ên ho lógos.

In the Greek Orthodox Church, they translate the word Theon as God, and the word Theos as Divine.

Bible scholars believe the word that should be used when translating the word Theos is ‘divine, or of divine origin’.

Unfortunately, most translators of Scripture in the Middle Ages were either Masons or Rosicrucians, and they translated Scripture according to their bias.

But the bottom line is Theon and Theos are two different words.

Others use 1 John 5:7 to justify the Trinity. Let me shock you. The word Trinity does not even appear in Scripture. And worse still, the words “and these three are one”, which appears in the King James Version, does not appear in the original Scripture.

That is why other than the King James Version, that sentence does not appear in other translations.

Do yourself a favour and cross check by opening any Bible app and comparing the various versions of 1 John 5:7.

I know it is difficult, but try to read Scripture in the original languages. It will be as if you are reading it for the very first time!
