The Lagos Governorship Election Petition Tribunal is set to announce its decision on Monday, which will determine the outcome of the legal challenges against Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s election victory.
It is reported that both Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s governorship candidate, and Olajide Adediran of the Peoples Democratic Party have raised objections to Sanwo-Olu’s win in the March 18 governorship election.
The tribunal session held on August 12 saw the final written arguments presented by the legal teams. Sanwo-Olu, who represents the All Progressives Congress, was initially declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission after securing a resounding victory in the election, with 762,134 votes.
Rhodes-Vivour came in second with 312,329 votes, while Jide Adediran (Jandor) of the PDP trailed in third place with 62,449 votes.
