Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has come under intense public scrutiny after his former partner and mother of his son, Jelicia Westhoff, levelled a series of serious allegations against him following the emergence of photos showing him dining with American rapper Cardi B in Italy.
In a series of posts on social media, the Dutch model accused Okoye of physically abusing her during their relationship, repeatedly cheating on her, and abandoning their son.
Westhoff alleged that the Nigerian international has seen their child only a few times in the past two years and claimed he deliberately distanced himself from the boy because of their personal disagreements.
She further alleged that their son was hospitalised several times in December without Okoye visiting or offering support, adding that she had remained silent for years to protect his image and football career.
According to her, legal representatives have been involved for weeks over issues relating to child support and visitation rights.
Westhoff also made a personal claim about the footballer’s sexuality, alleging that he is bisexual. She wrote: “You never had any other girlfriend than me because you are bi.”
She, however, insisted that her decision to speak out was not prompted by another woman, despite her posts coming shortly after photographs and videos of Okoye having dinner with Cardi B in Italy began circulating online.
As of the time of filing this report, Maduka Okoye has not publicly responded to the allegations.
The claims made by Westhoff remain unverified, and no court has ruled on the allegations.
