The Ogun State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to returning missionary schools to their original owners as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships in the education and health sectors.
Governor Dapo Abiodun made this known while receiving the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, Archbishop Michael Francis Crotty, alongside Catholic bishops and other church leaders.
He stressed that government alone cannot drive sustainable development, noting that faith-based institutions remain key partners in advancing education, healthcare, peace, and social stability.
The governor said the state remains open to deeper collaboration with the Church, acknowledging its long-standing contributions to human development and community growth.
Abiodun also praised the religious harmony enjoyed in Ogun State, describing it as a major pillar of the state’s peace and progress.
He appreciated the prayers and support of the faithful, which he said have contributed significantly to the successes recorded by his administration.
He further expressed optimism over the Church’s readiness to work with the government in promoting inclusive growth, reiterating his administration’s resolve to build a more progressive and prosperous Ogun State.
