The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recovered the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) from the wreckage of the ATR-42 aircraft involved in the fatal air crash at Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The recovery, coming 30 days after the tragic incident, marks a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The Cockpit Voice Recorder, commonly known as the black box, is expected to provide investigators with vital information about conversations and cockpit activities in the aircraft’s final moments before the accident.
The recovered device could offer crucial clues about the sequence of events leading to the crash and help investigators establish what went wrong.
The development is expected to shift attention to the technical examination and analysis of the recorder as investigators intensify efforts to unravel the cause of the tragedy.
