The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved a sweeping nationwide digital membership registration exercise, setting the stage for a major compliance push under Nigeria’s updated electoral framework.
In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the party announced that the digital registration will commence on Monday, March 2, 2026, and run for three weeks across all wards in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
The move follows the requirements of the Electoral Act 2026, which mandates all political parties to submit a comprehensive digital register of their members to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the party, registration will take place daily—except Sundays—at all Ward, Chapter and State offices nationwide. Special cases will be handled at the PDP National Secretariat.
To ensure a smooth rollout, the National Working Committee has constituted a special committee headed by the National Organising Secretary, Hon. Theophilus Daka Shan, to oversee the exercise and address any complaints that may arise.
Party members and interested members of the public have been urged to visit the nearest PDP office in their ward to participate in the registration.
