The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 52-year-old man, identified as Isaac Ohimon, over the alleged defilement of a minor in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of the state.
Ohimon was reportedly arrested by operatives of the Ekpoma Divisional Police Headquarters following a complaint concerning the alleged sexual abuse of the minor.
According to the report, the suspect allegedly lured the minor and had unlawful sexual intercourse with her on September 7, 2026.
The incident was reported to the police the following day, September 8, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
The command’s spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem, confirmed the development and disclosed that the minor was receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
Ikoedem added that the suspect had confessed to the alleged offence and would be charged to court after the completion of investigations.
