Residents of Mada Station in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area have called on the Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, to immediately transfer the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Mada Station over alleged incompetence and inaction.
The demand follows a recent assault case in the community, which residents say exposed the inability of the police division to respond effectively to criminal incidents.
According to community members, the DPO and his officers have consistently failed to act on reported cases, often responding with assurances but taking no visible action.
Residents described the officers as overwhelmed and unable to confront criminal elements in the area, stressing the need for a more proactive and courageous leadership at the division.
They urged the police command to deploy a fearless and capable DPO to restore confidence and ensure security in Mada Station.
