Residents of the Ogombo area of Lagos State were left in shock after suspected thieves invaded their compound in the dead of night and reportedly carted away 11 generators.
The incident, which was discovered in the early hours of the morning, left residents scrambling to assess the extent of the damage after the generators used by occupants as alternative sources of electricity were found missing.
A resident of the compound, who filmed the scene, said the thieves appeared to have targeted the generators and took away all the units they could carry.
According to the resident, the only generators left behind were those considered too heavy for the suspected thieves to move.
The brazen operation has raised fresh concerns among residents over security in the Ogombo area, particularly the ability of criminals to operate within residential compounds at night.
The residents are expected to report the incident to the relevant security authorities and seek increased security measures around the compound.
As of the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident.
Further details, including the identities of the suspects and the circumstances surrounding the operation, were not immediately available.
