Fresh controversy has emerged ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Keffi West Constituency following allegations of an attempt to influence the outcome of the party’s internal democratic process.

According to information circulating among party stakeholders, respected political figure Engr. Wada Nawada is allegedly involved in a closed-door meeting with the Executive Chairman of Keffi, Hon. Damagani, and Hon. Baba Ali over purported plans to manipulate the APC primary election in favour of Hon. Baba Ali.

The allegations have generated reactions among party members and political observers within the constituency, with concerns being raised over the need for transparency and fairness in the conduct of the APC primaries.

A statement by one of a party chieftain Engr. Sani Danladi addressing Engr. Wada Nawada, expressed disappointment over the alleged development, describing him as a respected and politically experienced figure whose reputation should not be linked to what was termed “a desperate political conspiracy and charade.”

“The people are watching, the party members are alert, and democracy must prevail,” the statement noted while calling on all stakeholders to allow a free and credible primary election process in Keffi West Constituency.

As of the time of this report, Engr. Wada Nawada, Hon. Damagani, and Hon. Baba Ali have not issued any official response regarding the allegations.

Political analysts believe the development may heighten political tension within the APC as party members prepare for the crucial Keffi West Constituency primary election.
