The Pere of Olodiama Clan in Edo State, His Royal Majesty, Pere Godwin Oguoyibo, the Alagbabunafa lll, has recognized the selfless contributions of Chief BJ Braie towards the peace and development of Edo State.
In an interview, Chief Braie stated that he believes in the overall peace for the Ijaw people and has worked tirelessly towards achieving it.
He has been involved in several meetings with security agencies and the then-governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to strategize for peace without collecting a single dime from anyone.
Today, he is seeing the value of every effort he made and every money he spent then, in the peace that exists in Edo State.
According to him: “I have been a man with many parts. I stand for the overall peace for the Ijaw People.
“When the Federal Government Amnesty program started, I had several meetings with the security agencies and the then governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. We strategized for peace without collecting a dime from anyone. But today, I am seeing the value for every effort I made and every money I spent then.
“If there’s peace in Edo State, there will be joy in the people’s heart.”
Chief Braie is a leader who believes in making sacrifices for his followers and not imposing himself on the people. He is the President of the Ijaw National Congress, INC, Edo State, and has used his position to ensure peaceful coexistence within the Ijaws in Edo State and beyond.
He recognizes the chieftaincy title given to him by the Pere of Olodiama as a call for more service. Chief Braie’s positive contributions towards education have been recognized by the National Union of Ijaw Students Worldwide, who honored him with an award of excellence in 2011.
He has registered many children for JAMB, WAEC, NECO, and has helped many secure admission into various tertiary institutions. Chief Braie checks on the students to know what they are doing and how they are performing in school, acting as a parent to those who have been rusticated from school but still collect school fees from their parents.
Chief BJ Braie is an insurance expert and consultant who uses his position to organize an annual event on insurance, generating gurus in the insurance sector. The title of Ozuzu, given to Chief Braie, signifies that he is a great motivator, unifier, peacemaker, and inspirer.
He is loved and appreciated by his people, who recognize him as a leader who always puts their interest first.
