Nigerian Army troops have arrested three women suspected of having links with ISWAP terrorists during an intelligence-led operation in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the arrest followed intercepted communications that allegedly revealed plans to move a woman to an area controlled by terrorists. Acting on the information, troops from the 222 Battalion (Mechanised) carried out an operation at an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Konduga, where the suspects were apprehended.
The suspects are accused of helping to facilitate communication and movement between civilians and terrorist groups operating in the North-East.
Military authorities confirmed that the women are currently in custody as investigations continue to determine the level of their involvement and uncover possible connections to other members of the network.
The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to disrupt support systems and channels linked to terrorist activities in the region.
