Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed 26 terrorists and foiled an attempted attack on a community in Borno State, in a major counter-terrorism operation.
The decisive operation was carried out late Friday night following intelligence reports indicating the movement of suspected terrorists in the area.
The terrorists reportedly came into contact with troops of the 101 Special Forces Battalion at about 10:45pm, triggering a fierce confrontation.
The troops repelled the attack, killing 26 terrorists in the ensuing firefight and preventing the insurgents from overrunning the targeted community.
Four soldiers, however, sustained injuries during the operation.
The latest battlefield success underscores the continued efforts by troops under Operation Hadin Kai to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent attacks on communities across the North-East.
