BREAKING: Atiku Drops Bombshell, Says ‘Tinubu Is 90’ — ‘I Have Evidence, I’ll Prove It in Court’

Former Vice President and 2027 African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has thrown a fresh bombshell into Nigeria’s emerging 2027 political battle, claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is 90 years old and declaring that he has evidence to prove the allegation in court.

Atiku made the explosive claim during a BBC interview while defending his decision to contest the presidency again despite his age and multiple previous attempts.

The former vice president insisted that his physical fitness, experience, competence and patriotism make him qualified to lead Nigeria, arguing that seeking the presidency remains his constitutional right.

“You have a President who is 90 years old now and sick, and I am healthy and strong. So why won’t I make myself available to serve my country?” Atiku said.

He doubled down on the allegation, challenging anyone to dispute his claim in court.

“You went and voted for someone who is 90 years old. I have evidence that President Tinubu is 90 years old and I will present it in court,” he declared.

The claim represents a direct challenge to President Tinubu’s publicly stated date of birth. Tinubu was born on March 29, 1952, according to official biographical records, meaning he is 74 years old in 2026.

Atiku’s allegation is therefore likely to ignite another fierce political and legal confrontation as the 2027 presidential race gathers momentum.

The ADC presidential candidate also delivered a blistering assessment of the Federal Government’s handling of Nigeria’s security crisis.

Atiku attributed the country’s persistent insecurity to what he described as government “irresponsibility”, particularly inadequate defence funding and the imbalance between Nigeria’s population and the number of police personnel available to protect citizens.

He vowed to take immediate and decisive action if elected President.

According to Atiku, an ADC administration would bring Nigeria’s security crisis under control within its first year in office.

The declaration adds security, presidential fitness and the controversial question of age to the growing list of political flashpoints likely to dominate the 2027 presidential contest.

As political alignments continue to shift ahead of the election, Atiku is positioning himself as a physically fit and experienced alternative to the incumbent — while promising a tougher and more decisive response to Nigeria’s security challenges.
