Tuition Hike: AAU constitutes a 7-man SUG caretaker committee

The Management of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma on Wednesday, constituted a seven-man Caretaker Committee to oversee the administration of the Students Union following the dissolution of the Oshioke Abdulfatai Ibrahim led SUG in the wake of continued protest over alleged tuition fee hike.

The University Management in a release signed by the Acting Dean of Students, Engr. Dr. E. Ufuah and made available to newsmen in Benin City, said “After due consultations with relevant authorities and stakeholders, the Seven-Man Caretaker Committee has been appointed to pilot the affairs of the Ambrose Alli University Student Union Government as Caretaker Committee for the 2022/2023 academic session”.
“The appointed students are to act in the various designated capacities pending the conduct of an election.”
The press release stated further that Ogbewi Liberty would preside over the Committee, while Udih Kessiena would function as the Vice President and Idahosa John Omoh would function as the Secretary-General.
It would be recalled that the University authorities had dissolved the SUG in the wake of protracted protests over an alleged hike in tuition fees.
