2027: DSS Arrests aspirant After Declaring Interest in Senatorial Seat

Report reaching Uptown Press has it that operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Bodejo shortly after he arrived in Jalingo, Taraba State, to formally declare his intention to contest the Taraba Central Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to an insider, Bodejo was received by a large crowd of supporters from the airport down to the All Progressives Congress (APC) State secretariat.

Sources said that after paying courtesy visits to some security agencies in the state, DSS operatives picked him up and ordered those accompanying him to leave, leaving him in their custody. However, the reason for his arrest has not been officially disclosed.

As of the time of filing this report, the DSS has not issued any official statement regarding the incident.
