At least nine people have been killed in separate attacks in Barkin Ladi, Riyom and neighbouring communities in Plateau State between Saturday night and Sunday morning, according to Vanguard.
Five of the victims were passengers travelling to Gana-Ropp in Barkin Ladi LGA when they were attacked on Saturday night.
Two others, including a pastor, were reportedly killed while travelling to church at Dorowa Babuje on Sunday morning.
The National President of the Mwaghavul Development Association, Bulus Dabit, confirmed the Gana-Ropp killings, while Pyem Youth Leader in Gana-Ropp, Ukasha Garaba, said five bodies were evacuated from the area.
Jos Broadcast also reported that a woman was killed at Baten Wereng in Riyom LGA on Saturday night, while another person was killed at Ratyidi in Fan District.
Spokesman of the Berom Youth Moulders, Rwang Tengwong, condemned the attacks and called for stronger security presence in the affected communities.
Meanwhile, several cattle were reportedly killed or stolen around Dorowa Maranba and the Kantoma axis at about 3am on Sunday.
The incidents have heightened tension and fear across the affected communities.
