A woman who identified herself as the former wife of the King of Ubiaja in Esan South-East Local Government Area of Edo State, Ese Jane Edojawene, has publicly raised concerns over the whereabouts and welfare of her children.
In an emotional video shared on her Facebook account, Edojawene alleged that the monarch took their children away from her and left them in the village with his mother while he reportedly remained in Benin City.
She claimed that the children had not returned to school since the commencement of the new academic session, expressing concern about their welfare and education.
The visibly distressed woman also pleaded with the monarch to allow her speak with the children, saying she had been unable to communicate with them.
“I just want to talk to my children,” she pleaded in the video, while alleging that the situation had left her depressed.
Edojawene had previously made allegations of domestic violence, bullying and verbal abuse during the relationship.
The monarch has not publicly responded to the claims at the time of filing this report.
