Nembe Political Class Endorses All APC Candidates, Commends Governor Diri for Fostering Unity

The Nembe Local Government Area political class and stakeholders have unanimously endorsed all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) contesting elective positions in the 2027 general elections, declaring their commitment to working together for the success of the party.
The endorsement was made during a strategic consultative meeting with the APC candidates in Yenagoa, where political leaders and stakeholders from Nembe LGA spoke with one voice in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC candidate for Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Hon. Israel Sunny Goli, candidate for Brass/Nembe Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Robinson Obuebite, Ph.D., Hon. Oteigbanyo George Braah, for Nembe Constituency 1, Hon. Edward Irigha Brigidi, for Nembe Constituency 2 and Hon. Alalibo West, for Nembe Constituency 3.
The stakeholders also directed their supporters across the area to vote for all APC candidates.
Speaking at the meeting, former Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (Rtd.), stressed the importance of regular communication, consultation and unity among political stakeholders.
He congratulated the APC flagbearers on their emergence and urged all members and supporters to remain united, noting that the primary objective of every political party is to win elections.
He expressed confidence that the APC would emerge victorious if stakeholders remained committed to a common course.
The Nembe political class, in their separate remarks, particularly appreciated Governor Douye Diri for his leadership, peaceful disposition and efforts towards bringing political leaders and stakeholders together.
They noted that never in the political history of Nembe had brothers and political stakeholders from the area come together in such a manner to speak with one voice and pursue a common political direction.
They described the development as historic and said they remained indebted to the Governor for creating an atmosphere that made the unity possible.
The APC senatorial candidate for Bayelsa East, Rt. Hon. Israel Sunny Goli, described himself as a servant of the people and pledged to provide effective representation if elected.
Goli also promised to deploy his experience in the House of Representatives to support the APC candidate for Brass/Nembe Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Obuebite, in the National Assembly.
Also speaking, the APC candidate for Brass/Nembe Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Robinson Obuebite, Ph.D., in his remarks, described himself as an applicant seeking to be employed by the people’s company, “Brass/Nembe Federal Constituency Nigeria Limited.” That he will unite the constituency, promote development and ensure that the people enjoy the dividends of democracy.
The former Commissioner also reaffirmed his loyalty to Governor Douye Diri and expressed appreciation to the Governor and the political stakeholders for the prevailing atmosphere of peace and unity.
The APC candidates for the Nembe State Constituencies, Hon. Oteigbanyo George Braah, Hon. Irigha Brigidi and Hon. Alalibo West also expressed appreciation to the political class for the unity of purpose and pledged to work diligently for their constituents.
They commended Governor Diri for helping to bring political leaders and stakeholders together, expressing optimism that the collective support of the people would translate into victory for the APC candidates.
The leaders and stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the APC candidates from top to bottom, stressing that the unity witnessed at the meeting was beyond electoral politics.
They said the coming together of brothers and political stakeholders who had, over the years, pursued different political interests was a significant milestone that would remain in the history of Nembe.
They further acknowledged Governor Diri’s leadership and peaceful disposition, stating that his approach to governance and politics had helped create the platform for reconciliation, cooperation and unity among the people.
According to them, what had appeared impossible for years, bringing Nembe political stakeholders together under one roof and in one voice, had finally become a reality and they expressed gratitude for the role played by the Governor in making the historic development possible.
