Senator Ned Nwoko has revealed that before he joined the APC, he was assured that he would be given an automatic ticket.
According to him, this promise influenced his decision to leave his former party and join the APC. However, after joining, he was made to go through the normal primary election process, which he said contradicted the agreement that was made with him.
Nwoko also claimed that he and other new members were promised a restructuring of the party and a power-sharing arrangement that would give them a role in the party’s leadership and government. He said these promises were never fulfilled.
Speaking on the primary election, the senator maintained that he won in 98 wards and insisted that the evidence presented by former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa only related to one ward where there was a dispute. He expressed confidence that the results were in his favour despite the controversy surrounding the outcome.
